Craig Gordon has called time on a goalkeeping career spanning 25 years, announcing his retirement at the age of 43, according to Sky Sports.
The Scotland international made his name at Hearts before earning a big-money move to Sunderland, and later returned north of the border to enjoy a decorated spell with Celtic, where he lifted numerous domestic honours. Gordon also became a mainstay of the Scotland national team, representing his country across a long international career that added to his reputation as one of the most durable and respected goalkeepers of his generation.
His longevity was all the more remarkable given the serious injury setbacks he battled through during his career, which threatened to derail his progress at various points but never stopped him returning to the top level.
