Aston Villa look set for a goalkeeping shake-up, with Sky Sports reporting the club have struck an agreement with Parma to sign Zion Suzuki.
The move comes as Villa continue talks with Juventus over a potential departure for current No 1 Emiliano Martinez, with the Italian side having tabled a bid for the Argentine shot-stopper. According to Sky Sports, those negotiations remain ongoing.
Suzuki, who had previously attracted interest from Paris Saint-Germain, now appears set to head to the Midlands instead, with the proposed switch positioning him as Martinez's long-term successor should the veteran keeper depart for Turin.
While the Suzuki deal is understood to be agreed with Parma, Martinez's own future hinges on how talks with Juventus progress. Villa fans will be watching closely to see whether their long-serving No 1 makes way for the Japan international, in what would mark a significant shift between the sticks at Villa Park.
