According to BBC News, Spanish football commentator Alvaro Romeo believes the 27-year-old could prove a shrewd addition for the Reds — but only if he can rediscover the level that once made him one of Europe's most highly-rated defenders. Romeo described Araujo's form three years ago as "phenomenal," suggesting that version of the player would represent a "very good asset" for Arne Slot's side.
Araujo has struggled to consistently reach those heights in recent seasons at Camp Nou, with injuries and inconsistent form hampering his progress. The move to Anfield offers him a fresh start in the Premier League, where he'll aim to prove he can still operate at the top level.
