PCP Capital Partners, the investment vehicle led by Amanda Staveley and her husband Mehrdad Ghodoussi, has reportedly submitted an offer to acquire a 25.1 per cent stake in West Ham United, according to Sky Sports.
The shareholding in question currently belongs to the family of the late David Gold, the former co-owner who passed away and whose stake has since remained within his relatives' hands. Should the deal progress, it would mark a significant shift in the Hammers' ownership structure, bringing in Staveley and Ghodoussi, who previously fronted the Saudi-backed takeover of Newcastle United before departing the Magpies' boardroom.
It remains unclear at this stage whether the Gold family are willing to sell, or what valuation PCP have placed on the stake. Sky Sports' report does not confirm any agreement has been reached, only that an offer has been tabled.
West Ham have endured a difficult period on and off the pitch recently, and any change in ownership at boardroom level would be closely watched by supporters hoping for fresh investment and stability moving forward.
