Chelsea have lost out in the race for Bundesliga wonderkid Kerim Alajbegovic, who has instead chosen to join Juventus, according to EPL Index (Opta Stats).
The Blues had reportedly been tracking the young talent as part of their scouting network, hoping to add him to their ever-expanding roster of prospects. However, the report suggests Alajbegovic snubbed Chelsea's advances in favour of a move to Turin, dealing Todd Boehly's recruitment team a fresh setback.
The development is also said to raise questions over Chelsea's multi-club "BlueCo" pathway model, which relies on convincing top young players that a move to Stamford Bridge — or an affiliated club — offers the clearest route into senior football. Losing out to Juventus on a player they were keen to land will inevitably invite scrutiny of whether that project is as persuasive as the club hierarchy hopes.
