Maardu edged a five-goal thriller at Maardu linnastaadion, holding off a second-half Flora II fightback to claim a 3-2 win in Esiliiga A's Round 14.
The hosts made a blistering start, with A. Volkov breaking the deadlock in the 16th minute before E. Kouadio doubled the advantage just eight minutes later, putting Maardu firmly in control at 2-0 inside the opening half-hour.
Flora II halved the gap before the break through M. Kukkonen, who converted from the penalty spot in the 36th minute to give the visitors a foothold heading into halftime at 2-1.
The young Flora side continued to press after the restart and drew level in the 62nd minute when A. Jakovenko struck to make it 2-2, setting up a tense finale.
However, Maardu responded swiftly, with D. Lebedev restoring their lead just seven minutes later in the 69th minute, netting what would prove to be the decisive goal.
Despite late pressure from Flora II in search of an equalizer, Maardu's defense held firm to secure all three points and a 3-2 victory, capping off an entertaining encounter that featured five goals, a penalty, and twin comebacks that ultimately fell short for the visitors.
