Juventus have shifted their goalkeeper hunt away from Aston Villa's Emiliano Martinez and are set to land Tottenham's Guglielmo Vicario instead, according to Sky Sports.
The Serie A giants have reportedly agreed a loan deal for the Italy international, with an option to make the move permanent for around £8.5m. Vicario emerged as an alternative target after talks over Martinez cooled, with Villa having already lined up their own replacement between the sticks — agreeing terms to sign Zion Suzuki from Parma.
The move would see Vicario return to his homeland after two seasons at Spurs, where he established himself as one of the Premier League's more reliable shot-stoppers. For Juventus, it represents a pragmatic solution to their goalkeeping situation, opting for a loan-with-option structure rather than committing to a permanent deal upfront for Martinez.
Villa, meanwhile, appear to have moved swiftly to sort their own succession plan by turning to Suzuki, suggesting Martinez's long-term future at the club may also be shifting as the goalkeeper market reshuffles across the top flight.
