Germany U19 came from behind at the Racecourse Ground to book their place in the final, edging Ukraine U19 2-1 in a tense UEFA U19 Championship semi-final.

Ukraine looked set to take a deserved lead into the break when V. Glyut struck in the 43rd minute, finishing off a Kaliuzhnyi assist to cap a first half in which they'd already seen Y. Kokodynyak booked moments earlier, adding to a caution for P. Lyusin in the 31st.

But Germany's response was immediate. Just two minutes later, deep into first-half stoppage time, O. Stange levelled matters, converting from B. Mamuzah Lum to send the sides in level at 1-1.

Ukraine made an early second-half change, introducing P. Sykut for B. Olychenko at the restart, but couldn't find a way back in front. Germany's M. Reimers was booked in the 73rd minute before being withdrawn for J. Fields two minutes later, while Ukraine continued to freshen their side with Kaliuzhnyi making way for O. Kamensky in the 82nd minute.

The decisive blow came deep into stoppage time. With Ukraine having just introduced D. Bogdanov, Germany struck again in the 90+1st minute as F. Onyeka turned home Stange's assist to snatch victory at the death, sending Germany U19 through to the final at Ukraine's expense.
