Xabi Alonso has ruled Kendry Paez out of his Chelsea first-team plans after the Ecuadorian teenager failed to complete a move away before last week's transfer deadline, according to BBC News.
The 19-year-old is instead expected to be sent down to Cobham Next Gen, Chelsea's Under-21 setup, rather than feature in Alonso's senior squad this season.
Paez had been tipped for a loan exit to gain first-team experience elsewhere, but with no deal finalised in time, Chelsea appear content to have him continue his development in the club's academy ranks for now.
