Tottenham's £85m summer signing Matheus Fernandes has revealed that Roberto De Zerbi's persuasive influence played a decisive role in his move to north London, according to Sky Sports.
Spurs are yet to open their Premier League account this season, still searching for both a first goal and a first win, but Fernandes insists there's genuine belief within the squad that silverware is within reach. He described a group packed with "a lot of quality" and said the ambition inside the camp is to fight for trophies rather than simply settle mid-table.
The midfielder pointed to De Zerbi as central to his decision to join, suggesting the head coach's passion and vision for the project convinced him Tottenham was the right destination despite the club's slow start to the campaign.
