Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has reportedly been approached to join a consortium exploring a potential investment in Liverpool, according to Sky Sports.

The group is understood to be fronted by Amit Bhatia, the former co-owner of QPR, who is said to be leading efforts to attract high-profile backers for a possible stake in the Premier League club. Bezos, whose personal fortune stems from his Amazon empire, would represent a significant name for the consortium if talks progress, though Sky Sports stresses no formal agreement is in place at this stage.

Liverpool are currently owned by Fenway Sports Group (FSG), who have overseen a period of major success at Anfield, including Premier League and Champions League triumphs under previous managerial regimes. FSG have not commented publicly on the reported approach, and it remains unclear whether the American ownership group would be open to selling any portion of its stake.

Discussions are said to be at an early stage, and Sky Sports notes there is no certainty a deal involving Bezos or the wider consortium will materialise.
